Meet Bridgette
Welcome to Grace Through the Valley. I pray that you will find hope and encouragement here.
Writing has always been a place of healing for me, and as I step into the unknown of what it means to be a widow at 51, I felt led to share this journey. My hope is that through these words others will find peace, comfort, and healing. It doesn’t matter if you are young, older, or like me, somewhere in the middle — you are welcome here.
More than anything, I hope you will discover grace, hope, and deep fulfillment in Christ as we walk through this valley together.
My name is Bridgette. I am a Christian, a widow, a mom to two beautiful daughters, and a veteran special education teacher with a heart for serving others. On January 1, 2026, I lost my husband at the age of 51 — a loss that reshaped my life and my calling.
My husband was everything good in this world to us. He was a faithful man of God, a loving husband, an incredible father, an IT enthusiast, and a pastor who faithfully preached the gospel each week. He loved reading, adventure, and most of all, he loved his girls. He was truly the most amazing girl dad.
His absence has left a tremendous hole in our world, and now my daughters and I are learning how to carry forward his legacy — a legacy of loving others, serving faithfully, and standing firmly on the uncompromised truth of the gospel.
As a former pastor’s wife, my life has always been centered on faith and caring for others. Now, as I walk through grief myself, God has placed a deep desire on my heart to encourage and support widows of all ages with compassion, faith, and hope.
If you are walking through loss, you are not alone.
